Second Harvest Food Bank’s mission is to feed the hungry in Middle Tennessee while reducing food waste through an efficient system of collection and distribution.

During the 1999-2000 fiscal year, Second Harvest distributed over 11 million pounds of food to hundreds of partner agencies, providing enough food for almost 8 million meals to hungry men, women, and children in the Middle Tennessee area.

HUMC leads several food drives for Second Harvest throughout the year. Dates are published in the newsletter.
