The Room In The Inn ministry operates out of the Campus for Human Development. HUMC is a long-time supporter of this program, hosting our guests on Friday nights from November through March. City-wide, Room In The Inn provides food and shelter for 185 to 225 people each night in 145 area congregations from November 1 through March 31.
HUMC hosts up to 12 guests every Friday night during this coldest time of year. Participation manifests itself in many forms: cooking meals, serving meals, contributing clothes, interacting with the men after dinner, playing cards, bringing movies, washing sheets and towels, sharing the Word with a fellow believer, preparing mats for sleeping, contributing food, or arranging the kitchen and closet for the most efficient use, to name a few.
